That's interesting...

It's possible Dirk has his own motives/Purpose, he's just keeping them a secret...

Dirk has the potential to become one of the best characters in the future.
If the Purpose theory is true, what about Gaius? He seems to be very near to his purpose, whatever it is.

Just a thought - if Gaius is the "perfect" blade of Kalmar, and Kalmar is the leader of the Blana Sera, and the Guided and the Blana Sera are enemies, and Gaius is working with or is affiliated with the Guided...well, there a contradiction in there somewhere.

I thought of this when I was thinking of how Gaius fits into Amgard's new theory of the Way.

I think Gaius is working with the Guided to undermine them.

He screws over Sacrifa by letting What'shername (the Evil bitch who stoned Lilah) into the innerworkings of Sacrifa's shady dealings.

Sacrifa does his own thing (Anyone think he'll be back? His one deal-with-the-devil almost assures me he'll be back to raise some more hell), and the PS later kills him (tying up loose ends?)

Later on, Gaius mysteriously appears at Pontifex Tetzel's place, offering to take the group to the End of the Way. Rhue falls back, and what do we see? Dead rebels. Who's inside the nearby cave? Gaius.

Now who provoked the attack on Sacrifa and his wife? I'm sure it was Velucia (that's here name). Who kept talking to her during Rhue's stay in Estrana? Gaius. I think Gaius stirred up bad blood with the Guided to get them to infight, then he cleans up the rest.

So let's get the "Purpose" of each character down:

Rhue - search for Serena
Traziun - search for mother's killer
Gaius - destroying the Guided
Guided types - making sure everybody has a "Purpose" or enforcers of the Way
Strata - Pharaphalyn (pfft, I can't spell and too lazy to look it up. Sue me)
Scatha - fixing her beauty
Kloe - Gaius' love (or just being with him)
Kalmar - making a "perfect blade" to use against the Guided
Lexus - Though dead, her's was being like the "Dancing Violet"
Cesta - Er...robbing people? Seems that she's given up her ways...maybe it's reveal next episode
Settlers - They have no "Purpose", so are despised by the Guided

Dippy - Well, you figure it out!

Also, I found an interesting convo in Ep1 that's said after Therin whoops you.

"Why are you staying?" (I think I got that wrong)

"I'm going to sit down and listen to the Purpose"

"The Purpose speaks?"

"Yes, but not in a way that most people think, ask someone else when you have the time"

One more thing: I think that Lun's ability to make Cliffhangers at the end of Episodes is awesome, but he CANNOT FOLLOW THROUGH!

Ep-1: WHOMAG PS is on to hurt Rhue!
Ep-2: That crazy kidder, he's just paying a visit!

Ep-2: OH NOES! Rhue is gonna be executed! He has to escape!
Ep-3: Beh, let's just let Slade save him

Ep-3: Kloe's screwed. This is gonna be uber-tough to save her.
Ep-4: Black Lyn shows up, everyone just bolts (For being so scary, the Black Lyn NEVER got his time in the sun, dying the second time we see him)

Ep-4: ALRIGHT! Cetsa's life hangs in the balance! You have to win this Rhue! COME ON!
Ep-5: You didn't even last 6 rounds?

Ep 5-6 will be like this

Ep-5: WHOMAG RHUE U R TEH PHANTOOM SLASHER!
Ep-6: I'm just kiddin'. I am *SLICE* OH NOES IT'S TRAZUIN!

In the intro to Way Ep1, the PS's front-facing charset is MOST BLATENTLY Rhue's charset.

His faceset is Gaius' set.

His sword style looks nothing like Rhue's (He holds it behind him in ice-pick fashion while Rhue holds it vertical normally). Actually, his sword style resembles Trazuin's if anything.

Could this mean the PS is made up of parts of them? Each of their evilness or something?

Spaceboy: You got it down, and even minor characters have their "Purpose"

Forewoman Hill has her love for fame, but Cetsa escapes her.

Slade (though not minor) wants to uphold justice. In a way, in his final breath, he does. (Then again, Cetsa turned good moments before. )

Zeddicus wants to control Estrana without the Guided

Sacrifa wants to cure his wife's skin condition, but guess what? Yeah, it doesn't work.

Lyrra wants to be a part of the greatest story ever and have a dude who cares about her.

And no one's goals ever get really completed. The Purpose is an asshole, pure and simple

How much do you wanna bet that the final boss is The Purpose or the incarnation of it?

It could be fifty feet tall and have angel wings.

Actually, that'd be worse.

It'll probably be something related to Gaius, Sacrifa or Tetzel

What if Lun did something really crazy and told the next five episodes from the viewpoint of another character? Maybe one we already know, explaining his/her history, or maybe someone completely different who will tie into Rhue's story in episode 11. That would be annoying.

Nah, I doubt Lun will go that far into Episodes. I think he'll stop at 8-10

He would have to re-program the battle and menu system, so I really don't think so.
