Many have asked me, being the overall nice guy I am, what the root of all evil is. There are many answers, as well as many myths, to this question. For one thing, I would like to point out that it is NOT the United States government, like the Japanese want us to believe. And no, it is not War. War is the root of all annoyance to many on this board, myself not included. Keep it straight people. The root of all evil has a story behind it. I would tell you, but my wrist is popping completely out of joint. The powers of the evil are keeping me from typing it without some discomfort. Okay, at this point I'm still typing left handed only. I think I'll use my right hand a bit now.
Okay, the root of all evil....hmmm.....
Knowledge? Cuz if we knew nothing, then we wouldn't even know what evil is. But at the same time, perhaps if we had an elevated level of knowledge, we would cease being evil (insert some stupid joke about War from Impossible here).
Some say that money is the root of all evil. But think of this, what does a serial killer kill for? He kills not for money, but for the knowledge that a certain type of target is alive in the world. He either hates that type of person, ie: a short blonde teenager who is prettier than he is, or he find that type of target vulnerable, and so doesn't risk trying any new people. Or he has a fetish for killing short blonde girls who are prettier than he is.
So maybe the root of all evil is sex? PFF.........NO. Sex is good. Sex is fun. Sex is what makes the world stay alive. RAPE is bad. Sex is fun. Don't take my word on it though. I'm a virgin. But still, a guy would imagine that it's not all that bad.
Okay, now, we all "know" that knowledge is the root of all evil. We "know" it is. It's not them. Not the ones with the gun to my head who can't read anything but their own names. Okay, it's every fourth letter for the first 6 times. The Tall Rick Owes Live Loot Somedays. I managed to make them all the capital letters too. But yes, they can only read their own names, the word knowledge, and the word evil. I figured it out while typing. So knowledge is evil. And remember, THE TALL RICK OWES LIVE LOOT SOMEDAYS! THEY ARE COMING!!

If we're all willfully stupid enough not to fight eachother then... umm, oh what the heck, let me quote a Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes on "Ignorance is Bliss".

If we're all stupid we can go play with our toy trucks in a sandbox. Unless people are too stupid to make sandboxes, in which case, we could burry our heads into the ground, cutting off all supply of oxygen to our brain, killing everyone. If everyone's dead, no one can be evil. I'm a GENIUS!

Humanity is the root of all good also.

We create the concepts of good and evil therefore we are the roots of them.

Umm...the nature to kill is in almost every living organism that can move. Instinct. It's how we survive. Although the difference between humans and animals is that sometimes we feel sorry for the things we kill. But others don't. Like those hunting bastards around here.

STFU about killing it, show some respect for god sake. You killed it. Now go ahead and eat it or mount it on your wall, cuz I don't care. Just stop being so proud of killing! That idiotic attitude is why Good Morning America thinks what they think!

Actually, that's a funny story. Today during current events homework, which I'm sure you all have (you know, watch the news and take a quiz or whatever on it), and GMA was talking about how because there is a flu shot shortage, people in Minnesota are willingly turning down their shots to give them to more needy people. The lady who hosts it said this, "They're so giving, those Minnesotans, it's like 'You take the shot' 'No you take it' 'No you, I insist.' Ya sure ya betcha, as they say in Minnesota."
Okay, 1: I have NEVER said Ya sure ya betcha in a Scandenavian accent before today, when I was also busy saying What the crap?
2: I want a flu shot. I don't care who needs it more. When I don't get the shot, I get sick 6 times during the winter, like I am RIGHT NOW. Sore throat and everything. Give me a flu shot so I can sing in choir and scream way off key to songs at home, just because it's fun.
Everyone tells us we have an accent up here. I'm willing to admit that. We say bag as in how you say the letter A. Most people say it like you would in the word "acne." But I refuse to admit to talking like I could sing Polka and clog dance. Nothing against that stuff. It's just not me. Off topic, yes, but oh well.

Humans kill but hate it. Unless they hunt like idiots. Back on topic again.

the reason to that attidute in minnesota is probably the scandinavian heritage, we're all "you first" "no you" "I insist"
etc.

anyway, there is no absolute good and evil. It's up to each and everyone to decide in their mind what they find good and/or evil.

The root of all evil is greed, and the root of all good is greed, or "desire" and "hope" as some optimistic persons put it. The root of all greed is existance, ants want to, or have the insticts to work for the colony, and do anything in their power to do so, every things does something for a reason, for fun, for pleasure, to quench a desire. Some people just desire differant things, i.e. evil. The reason they desire those things, is due to their mind, their mind is shaped by almost everything that happens to them, what happens to the is determined by other peoples actions which are driven by desires. Hence an eternal loop. Though it completely depends on wha somebody's opinion of evil, in some far reaches of space, killing might be considered good. I have no idea what context that could be good in, but I've been brought up in a society where killing is bad, so I wouldn't be able to.

That's because without good there isn't evil and vise versa, without light there isn't any darkness because there is no opposition. Also without one or the other they wouldn't be the question "What is the source of all evil?(or good?)" anyway.

There is no GOOD or EVIL. Just like there is no RIGHT or WRONG. There is simply one person's ideals on what their society has told them is their oppinion versus another person's ideals.

EXAMPLE: Have you ever met someone that you thought was just utterly and completely INSANE?

Do you think that they believe themselves to be insane?

Some tree huggin hippies think that cutting down trees, is EVIL.

Then you have the conservative white collar business man that is the CEO of a major corperation that thinks that tree huggin hippies are evil.

The average person in our "civilized" world of today would agree that Murder is evil. (for the most part I agree)

Now ask a person that has killed someone if they thought that their reasons for said murder were justified........(first they will incist that they are innocent) I guarantee you they will think that they were completely justified.

Are they still EVIL?

It is natural to kill. You might be able to argue that it isn't natural to murder.

It's natural to kill, for a reason, i.e. hunting, survival, but without purpose is murder and stupid. In my opinion obviously.
