Wait, did I confuse Flibbo with someone else?

...Although I bet he deserves it either way.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I think one scene that would benefit from 3D (or even regular 2D animation would work) is the scene where Rhue jumps off the balcony. I can imagine the camera panning over his shoulder as he does a suicide drop and sparks flying out from his sword being deflected...

what might be nice in flash is a plunge game

you know, customize a wanderer, win tournaments to get notch items and improve skills.

You're referring to the plunge games that many people (including me) are attempting to develop. We've had a few threads before about it. I think a few people have got quite some progress on it, but not me though. Too much work from school and other stuff like that.

Before I get yelled at: No, not exactly in production, though I think some people has said that they have got a version of the plunge programmed up already.

Plunge game would be awesome! One question, though. Would it be possible to plunge in real life?

a plunge in real life.... with lightsaber or without it?
in order to assess the reality of life, it is necessary at least once to die

Lightsabers are too unwieldy. I'm thinking with a katana. On the subject of a plunge game, what would be the best program or language to use, if anybody cares to give their opinion.

I personally am developing it in Java. Mainly because it's the only language I'm proficient in. I haven't learned C++, and I'm only beginner level for C, which I'm study to program robots, so it doesn't help writing a game at any rate (little need to deal with pointers, Strings, etc. Atleast in the code so far).

Java has the advantage of being multi-platform, though it can be cracked easily due to the simple nature of its code. I could obfusucate the code, but that is only a slight hinderance to any proficient coder. Anyways, anybody with a packet sniffer could decode the simple messaging system anyways. Also, the fact that it runs on a JIT (just in time) compiler means that it runs slower than say C or C++. Plus, you need to have the Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE) installed.

The advantage is that most of the code I write can be reused easily. I really don't have much distribution problems at all with Java, other than making sure the user has the JRE installed. I can expand on the game easily, such as adding new Blade Arts or features (ie. initial throwing attacks) easily.

The biggest advantage would be if I wrote the program into an applet. But because of security restrictions, it would be considerably more difficult to program.

Anyways, I guess I'm not THAT qualified to talk about this. Anybody else got a better assestment of programming languages?

Hey, you just explained it a heck of a lot better than I ever could. I'm just a casual RM2K(3) user. By casual I mean CASUAL. (If only I had better char/chipsets)
