Impossible wrote:I would respond or reply to what Jeramyu said with a shouting or yelling argument, but it's obvious he only read fragments of my post (which was a lot to read for someone who never reads books) and still has no idea what I'm actually arguing, so there's no point.
Ok, you've done it now, asshole. You can start shit with Excell, War, Taka, or whoever the hell you want, but I can GURANTEE you're not going to get past starting shit with me.
Your "argument" is so faulty and miscontrued, it's really not even worth responding to. But since I want to show you a few things, teach you a few lessons, I'll go ahead anyway.
First off, here's something blatant. You can't debate the words at all, and it's so fucking wrong it's not even funny.

Congradulations, you win the official "most baseless accusation of the year" award. Now tell me, and tell me straight. Where the hell do you get off saying I never read books? How can you even begin to prove that statement. Have you been observing every minute of my waking life? No, no you have not. You're just spouting shit out of nowhere. Maybe you read more books than me; I'm not going to make any charges like that, but rest assured, I read quite a lot, and I write a hell of a lot more. Maybe not more than you: I don't know. I'm not making any assumptions or accusations.
Ok, you're also saying that I didn't read every part of your post. So let's do that now.
One problem with it is that practically every time someone talks you use a different and often inappropriate synonym for "said", and it looks horrible.
I mean, you don't want to be redundant, but that's just as bad.
You need to get into the practice of putting "in my opinion" after all of your posts. You treat most of them like facts.
Jesus, read a book some time. No published author will ever use words like "responded", "replied", "noted" and "hollered" every second paragraph. No, nobody wants to use "said" every time, but it's just as bad if not worse to go out of your way to have a whole bunch of unique equivalents (or just two that keep repeating, in some cases).
I don't give a fuck about published authors. There's nothing that makes them necessarily better than unpublished authors, and I could care less about any "rules" they might have made. I write things the way I want to express them. Stupidly? Fine, but that's your opinion, and I suggest you connotate it as so. Nobody's going to force me into writing a certain way.
I'm under the impression that you just read books, and write in the exact same fashion as every other dull (In my opinion) fantasy author out there. You're not going to produce anything unique. Maybe my stuff looks like it sucks, but I write easier knowing my style is something that's been touched upon less throughout history. It's ok to take inspiration from others, but we shouldn't use their writings as patters to be followed.
I used to try and write like that until I read the Chronicles of Prydain (which I actually learnt of from an RM2K game based on the first book, and now it's one of my favourite series'), and actually took a look at how the author did the same thing - the big tip-off was that it didn't look retarded.
Once again, in your opinion. I don't know if you expect us to take it that way, but almost every single post you make is in a directly offensive, confrontational, assholish way.
Wow, Teen, I thought you could read, but obviously not. I know using said too often is bad, although I had to teach myself since I skipped Grade 2. But that's as in 5 lines in a row with just "said". The exact opposite is just as bad. If an author has to go out of their way to have 10 retarded synonyms for "said" in one sentence, it's disgustingly obvious to the reader. I'm not going to go any further than that, I already made the facts clear in my previous post, so read it again. Extremes are never good.
It IS bad? Is that a fact? No. This once again supports my belief that you treat writing as some infinitly identical proceedure, where books are written by specific formulas. To me at least, writing is freedom, through a means that can easily be shared with other people. And I'd appreciate if you'd respect that. I'm not trying to make my book follow any rules.
Are you saying that because Fascism is a bad idea, Communism must be a good one, too? OMG COMMUNIST!
I really think you shouldn't try and fit these things into analogies.
Making my writing more like published writing isn't going to make it any better. I'm not writing with the intention of getting better. It might happen, but I don't have any goals to make my writing better. All I wanted to do was write a story about a bunch of crazy guys who go on all sorts of insane adventures, and kick a lot of ass in the process. For the sake of the unity within our core members. After people finish reading it, I hope people will think "damn, we kick a lot of ass", and if you honestly need the grammar correct in order to get passion out of my writing, then it really isn't worth my time to cater it to just. I'm not being paid to write this. If you sincerely believe there's something I could do to improve the experience to the entire audience, then I'm all ears.
See, the problem that I had with what you said, is this: You had a complaint against me using synonyms for speach adjectives, and thought it was bad. Your 'reasoning' is that you thought it was retarded. The worst part is that your support was "because that's not what published authors do". That blows my mind that you can not only act like your opinion is fact, but that you can support it by something even more unreasonable.
If you were to have said, "I think this is bad because it might confuse people", or some reasoning that could benefit people's interperetation of my stuff, then I could value that critique, and make adjustments accordingly. But the prudence and arrogence with which you lodge your 'complaints' is in such an offensive, ignorant, and unsupported manner, that I can't even begin to consider that.
I'm not going to hold a grudge or anything. As far as I'm concerned, this argument doesn't exist outside this topic. But maybe you should learn to be something called
considerate towards others, instead of making baseless accusations, and propigating your opinions as facts. Now don't take this any further, and just let the story go on.
