evolution takes as much faith as Creationism, if not more particularly when considering the evidence. (carbon dating is worhtless--fresh lava rock have been dated at 100,000 years by labs. for one example. then you have the mix up of spposed setiment layers, various hoaxes--piltdown man ect., then their are the protien tests to switch no-organic right-handed prtoeins in to organic left-handed proteins which has been proved impossible.) Scientists are lying to you to protect their careers / reputations. they are telling you what you want to hear. no surprise becasue that's how they get their funding. It all about money and the masses are suffering.

Fantastic. Your friend somehow unshackled his mind to wander some sort of alternate plain of existence, where he encountered something that left a physical burn mark on his body in the shape of a hand. Luckily he survived to provide you with this tale at a later date.

Carbon dating is worthless? You do realize that magma isn't the sort of place where fossils are normally found? Mostly due to how very, very, hot it is? Yes, Piltdown man was a hoax. I can think of one other, and a few fossils that had their signifigance downgraded, which is pretty good especialy when we compared it to other human endeavors like say, the government or religion. Heh, "supposed" sediment layers? Are you implying that they do not exist or that a few anomalies invalidate the entire thing? I have no idea what you're talking about with the proteins, though if you're pointing out how all living creatures seem to have left-handed protiens I agree that that is unspeakably odd, but keep in mind evolution itself doesn't deal with how life arose....or at least it isn't supposed to be.
Maybe if you know your true love is about to move away to college or something, you can stick this shit in the stereo and make the moment last while at the same time listening to pussies whine about bitch shit. Just like you.

Fossilization can also occur though the use of electricity. underground powerlines were severed in canada an instantaneouly fossilized numerous trees. about sediment layers. There is only one place in teh wolrd (somewhere in France, if I remember right) where all layers can be found in the "corect" order. usually they are mixed up or even reverse order.
If evolution does not deal with how life arose then there should be no arguemant about ID being taught in public schools.

I recommend the novel "Monster" by Frank Perretti. think of it as an interesting look at evolution that just happen to be part of a suspense novel about bigfoot. It's a good read anyway.

Basically, my compaint is this. I don't want my kids being taught something I'm 100% sure isn't true and can't be proved without circular logic. Honestly, I would be happy if neither evolutition nor ID was taught in schools. Then the left cires "but we will fall behind in science!" and I reply "I didn't say we can't teach survival of the fittest, just not evolution."
"psst hey buddy... you wanna buy my book?"

and as war mention: evolution takes as much faith as Creationism, if not more particularly when considering the evidence.

Ok... Evolutionism has concrete evidence. Creationism has a book. how can you even possibly attempt to argue religion in an intelligent conversation?

That would be like me using Star Trek to show NASA how to build spaceships

I love how you guys can take everything literally from the bible but you can't obey any of the 10 commandments or any of the rules about kindness, compassion, giving, arrogance, self sacrifice, anger etc. etc.

Apparently God doesn't care about his creations being happy and peaceful. He only cares that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to marry and that people should not be allowed to have abortions.

Evolution has mountains of evidence. But creationists find one thing that doesn't work and then they say it's all false because of the one incident.

Scientific process does not work that way.

I don't believe that a god who is omnipotent, omniescient, and omnipresent and also benevolent would allow us to suffer. If god is all the omnis, he must be too vast for us to even consider. How could we, on this little planet in the backwoods of the milky way sin against such a being? That is, if one even exists.

Someone once said that not believing in god must make my existence very sad. It doesn't, though. The world around us is wonderous enough without god. Science is wonderful and exciting on its own, and life without God is very clear. What if there's an undiscovered number between six and seven? Why is the orbit of Uranus and Pluto so weird? Is there a universal proto-language? If not, are humans gentically dispossed to speak in similar ways?

I'm a very curious person, and I want answers. God can't give them. All religion does is stifle knowledge, especially the western religions.

Science is always changing, always revealing more. Religion stays the same. It says something is the way it is, and then it can't be contested.

Science has the answers. Religion hides them.

I find if funny that you people think your answer is always right. Let me tell you something NO ONE KNOW!!!! Evolution does not have all the answers. There is stuff to prove it wrong and right, but here is a thought. Evolution does not take out the picture of a God. Your fools to think it does. Your a fool to think that Evolution does not have some good points to it. Science if the way of the future, but Religion is a way to live your life.

The world is a massive place. We don't know what is right. We never will till we are dead. Don't think you know because you don't
<WarV> You know what this place needs?
<Strayed> hookers?
<@Jeramyu> boobs?
<WarV> How about hookers WITH boobs!
<Strayed> I don't like fat guys.

War, you aren't allowed to make pseudo-philosophical posts with horrible grammar, THE EFFECT IS COMPLETELY RUINED.

Do we believe in god?
Quite a few people do.

Should people who hold god over science be slaughtered mercilessly?
Yes.

I think by now everyone understands that we have no evidence that god exists. You can't very well prove that god doesn't exist because... well... it would defy reason to disprove something so horribly metaphysical. The point of the topic was to ask if you personally believe in your imaginary friends so desperately that you worship them outwardly, not to start a evolution-creation debate. The reality will always be that we can't prove creationism and if we could it would probably discount itself.

(Actually, in retrospect... I think Shindy started the topic to be a douche.)

Mmm... The thing is, EVERY forum that I've ever hung around has the exactly same topic as this after a certain point, almost VERBATIM... It starts out innoculous and friendly enough, but things ALWAYS go downhill. Eventually the topic is locked by a mod when it gets out of hand. I'm just going to spare you all the shouting match and take the initiative here.
