Yeah, I'm pretty much in love with you now.

But I'm also incredibly jealous of your talent. So I also hate you.

Woo golly! Those are excellent! I wish I could do that style properly. My work is all heavily shaded semi-realist. Maybe you could give me some tips? One quibble: Rhue's eyes look a bit... odd. Might be they're not wide enough? Or something. I dunno.

Oh, one other thing:

Rhue's hair is dirty blond, not brown. Or so it seems from the facesets.

I think we were all too busy oogling too notice.

No, Rhue had brown hair. It was said a the beginning of the game--unless the man was too drunk to notice that he had dirty-blonde.

Well, time to burn all my attempts at colouring. Nothing will ever match up to this incredible work...

Shop smart, shop S-Mart.

<Jeramyu> I'm going to mistranslate our own anime, and piss ourselves off.

<_< Where's the old man! I want Dirk!

Nah, just messing, I know better then to start making requests. Your work is awesome, I really liked the Rhue picture, but the Scatha one was damn good too. Keep up the amazing work!

The issue with Rhue's eyes is that the width of the eye should be about equal to the distance between the two eyes. That is, you should make his eye wider. Also, since it's anime style, you want to draw a thinner outline for the eyes, and one last thing, when you draw the eyes you should try to draw the iris and pupil as round and circular as possible, just like any other style.

Though that kind of eliptical eye works occasionally, with less serious and less detailed drawings, it should still be much rounder.

Everything else was pretty awesome though.

Her mask looks like its the same module that, ahm, Zeratul or Tassadar uses in Starcraft. You might think this a very bad connection, but if you take a good look at the lines, it looks very similar.

Other than that, it's a good way to imagine Scatha. :)

Yay for Crits! :o

I actually might be the only one who's never played Starcraft, but it's true and I haven't. The only thing(s) I looked at while drawing it where Diapadion's Scatha Wallpaper (easier to reference rather than getting it out of the game) and Rangi's colored one. Truth be told I felt it looked more like the Predator's mask after I sketched it, but it wasn't intentional. That said being compaired to any artwork from the Blizzard Art Team is A-OK by me :)

Yes Rhue's Eyes are messed up, by both anime style and proportion-wise. Mostly due to me not being used to drawing in that style. Theres also a splotch of missing white on his left (our right) eye. He also appears to be left handed, I noticed this even before I scanned but was thinking I could just flip it in photoshop, then realized the belt strap would be wrong. Sword appears plastic rather than metal as a result of rushing to get it done really. I got a decent metal look going for the boot, dunno why I failed on the sword. I'm very critical of my own stuff, but also very lazy so almost never go back and fix stuff. =/

I appreciate the crits though so keep em coming.

Oh and SpaceBoy2000,

I wouldn't consider my colors that great really, so don't burn all your attempts ;)

I just got a new hard-drive so haven't moved all my files back over yet but when I do I'll upload the original PSD files for Photoshop if you want to look at them. If you head over to polykarbon.com's tutorial section he has a very similar tutorial as to how I colored these. I "ink" alot different than he does, but only because I mess up too much doing it by hand. (I do mine in photoshop with a cheap Wacom Tablet). His tutorial you might be able to manage if you aren't lucky enough to have a tablet, and have to use a mouse.

For a really simple way you can use color dodge and burn, like http://formula119.com/ Which works ok sometimes, but I generally don't like the way skin-tones come out doing that, It does seem to make pretty good anime hair shines though with the dodge set to highlight.

For a modern comic-book style color, like Spawn, and Savage Dragon seanellery.com has a pretty good tutorial about that, although getting his results would be very difficult with only a mouse.

The biggest mistake with color that adds so much is the subtle secondary highlight. It makes the stuff pop out alot more.

-- Sorry for double posting >_<
